Section: “Women's rights and dignity”

Winner: Shamsia Hassani

Shamsia Hassani shows extraordinary socio-ethical structure, despite personal risks. The form of art with the greatest impact on the public – wall paintings are an open-air artistic journey that testifies to and amplifies profound beliefs.

The purpose of masonry art cannot exclusively aim to beautify walls and surfaces. Society as a whole must be the beneficiary of creativity as it itself is a component of artistic success and the motivations that inspire it.

With Shamsia's inspiration, the walls of Kabul first, and from 2021 in other cities, will be colored with positive messages and responsible commitment, thus giving shape to the objective of promoting dignity and equality for women in an extroverted and contemporary key.
