Section: “War journalism and news from the front”

Winner: Stefania Battistini, RAI 1

With a sense of responsibility, in some of the most difficult circumstances in the world, Stefania Battistini demonstrates commitment to research and spreading the news - even when achieving the latter is risky. Correct information, sometimes difficult in conditions of peace, is dangerous where conflicts are ongoing. The winner demonstrates that she accepts the risk, understands the suffering of ordinary people as well as soldiers, to recover the meaning of daily life even when it is interrupted by death and destruction. The commitment is admirable, with television programs that especially impact young people so that they become antagonists to the indifference towards violence: an attitude that makes the winner an information activist, rather than a sensationalist militant.
